[ns] Recompile ns2

Hi..........

I am having problem in recompiling ns2.... I have followed the procedure...
1./configure
2.make clean
3.make depend
4.make

But i am getting the following error...
make: *** No rule to make target `clean'. Stop.

Can anyone pls help me...........
