[ns] effect of routing overhead on network bandwidth

HI : I want to know how can I find the effect of routing overhead on network paraneters using ns2 for Any routing protocol.
Say the effect of routing overhead on network bandwidth ,and what is the network bandwidth for adhoc network in ns2 ? Where can I set this ?
