[ns] how to calculate RTT

hello friends,

i am a new user to ns 2 and working on mixed wired wireless topology
i wanted to calculate RTT of a packet and how to retrive required data
from trace file that i get after simulation in this topology.
i tried for awk command but it does not suit in this environment?
can anybody help??
